During the past couple times we have gotten together, our group has gotten a lot of work done on our application. Our group decided to do a choose your own story kind of game, where you are presented with scenarios and you get to make choices that affect the story. I didn’t come up with the idea for the game or the script, but I have done all of the “Programming” (if you can even call it that). Basically I have done all of the placing things on screen and clicking the lego blocks of logic together to get it to do stuff. Most of it is very simple, if then, click this go there kind of logic with some sounds, but there is a little bit of complex stuff later in the game that was fun to work on.
There is a section in the game where you have to take a sobriety test and it uses the gyroscope and accelerometer to tell if you pass or fail the that part was actually pretty interesting to mess around with. It was more fun to work on because it actually required some thought to go into it and I have never done anything that required the use of any accelerometer or gyroscope input before.
The group worked really well together and it was overall a pretty good experience, someone even brought donuts which was nice.
Overall the app turned out pretty well and it’s not too complex or really all that visually appealing but I also had an operating systems project due tonight where I have to write an entire bash shell in C so I have devoted most of my time to that. (I do not enjoy programming in C).
